2018 was a very busy year for me...Starting with an exquisite adventure to Nepal and back to the US for more exploring- from the Olympic Penninsula in WA state to Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, the Cascade mountains, the southern Texas coast and finally the Steens Mountain Range in eastern OR, I filled up so many memory cards with images to remind me of fantastic memories made!  I participated in a couple art fairs and had a summer pop-up gallery in the Old Mill District in Bend, Oregon.  I enjoyed meeting so many new people at the fairs and gallery and also doing several workshops... In the fall, I took a road trip to Moab and Colorado and photographed interesting desert landscapes and spectacular fall colors.  I wrapped up the year with a photographic slideshow paired with the Central Oregon Mastersingers fall concert.  Pairing glorious voices with images of nature's beauty made for a beautiful concert for all.

In 2019, I travelled to Peru in May to take on the famous and beautiful Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.  I hiked 26 miles of incredible mountain scenery, lush cloud-forest and subtropical jungle all while hiking on ancient Inca paving stones, ruins and tunnels.  We traversed up to 14,000 feet and descended into the famous Machu Picchu valley. After completing that journey, I travelled to the Apurimac Canyon in the region of Cusco.  The viewpoint of Chonta is where I had the great fortune to see and photograph the magnificent Andean condor, the largest flying bird in the world!  Peru was all too spectacular to express in words- thankfully I had my camera!

In the summer, I took an extended vacation with my 3 boys to travel throughout Europe... we started in N. Ireland, circled most of the island, flew over to Scotland and soaked in the majesty of the gorgeous Highlands of Scotland, including the Isle of Skye.  Leaving from Edinburgh, I had to show them some of Europe's well known cities, London and Paris, before ending our adventure with a grand tour of the Swiss Alps.  We made incredible memories and I fulfilled a dream of mine to take them abroad as an introduction to the world!

2020 rolled around with trips planned for Iceland and Alaska, but we all know how 2020 ended up!  My trip to Iceland was scheduled in March and we took off just as COVID began disrupting our lives.  Luckily we made it there to experience this unworldly land filled with water falls, ice and snow, surrounded by ocean on the perimeter and filled with Europe's largest icecap, Vatnajokull.  Exploring the ice caves and tunnels through this glacier were the highlight of this trip and in the top of adventures of my life!  I'm so grateful I was able to complete this trip as Alaska had to be put on the backburner and remains on my bucketlist. The remainder of my 2020 included many local roadtrips exploring the Oregon coast and the fascinating area east of our home, John Day Fossil Beds National Monument and Parks.

2020 definitely had its' own agenda and there is no doubt that it impacted my photography and tested my resolve for getting out there when we needed to just hunker down.  I'm not really sure how 2021 will unfold in this uncertain world, but I plan on continuing to look for those silver linings and to follow the light!

2021 Uncertainty stuck around in 2021 and COVID was stubborn to depart from our lives.  I found ways to enjoy the Pacific Northwest with road trips to  Washington to check out Lake Chelan and Leavenworth with the Enchantment mountains moving up on my hiking to-do list.  Another visit to the beautiful San Juan islands was welcomed for my family and a first visit to Alaska was finally accomplished!  Hiking a glacier, kayaking in Aliak bay in a storm and spending quiet time in Seward made for a beautiful introduction to this state.  I'll definitely be back!

2022 .... let's see what unfolds!

Photo Classes and Workshops

While I have pulled back from committing to a full schedule of classes and workshops, I very much enjoy teaching the art of photography.

1:1 Camera Basics MORNING SESSION (approx. 3 hrs) $325

Let's meet at a local coffee shop where I'll teach you what you need to know about your camera, its' settings, and how to use those features to take beautiful photos.  After we meet and discuss the exposure triangle and composition, we'll head out to one of my favorite Central Oregon locations and practice what I taught you.  It's the best way to learn!  Hands on 1:1 instruction in the field putting to use the information you just learned!

Private Tours for Individuals or Groups (1/2 Day, Full Day & 2 Day Tours)

Contact me and let's discuss what you have in mind!  I can custom tailor a tour that will meet your needs!

Every season brings forth new opportunities for you to capture: from spring flowers covering mountain valleys, glacial lakes with icebergs in the summer, gushing waterfalls with abundant flora in the fall and snow capped mountains framed with spectacular sunrises in the winter- nature does not disappoint in Central Oregon.

Whether you are just developing your love for photography or are a well seasoned hobbyist, let's get out so I can teach you what you need to know, including camera tips and tricks, for capturing nature at its' best.
